Loch Hart Music Festival Mural

Created for Loch Hart Music Festival, this large-scale shipping container mural was designed to bring a big hit of colour and character into the festival landscape.

Rather than treating the container as a temporary structure to disguise, I wanted to turn it into something people would actually notice, explore and remember. The artwork wraps around the container with an imagined Australian landscape of rolling hills, waterways, rocky cliffs, native plants, swimmers and plenty of little details tucked throughout.

The palette shifts from pinks and oranges to bright yellows, greens and blues, creating a different scene depending on which side you approach from. Against the open landscape and enormous Victorian sky, the container became almost like a colourful little landmark within the festival.

I love murals in spaces like this because they can completely change how we experience something otherwise purely functional. A shipping container becomes part of the atmosphere, a meeting point, a backdrop and hopefully something that adds a little more joy to the weekend.
